Engaging Stories for the Young & Young at Heart!
I am pleased to share news of my latest book, Juliette Kinzie: Frontier Storyteller, which tells the story of historical figure Juliette Magill Kinzie as she moved from her “civilized” city home in New England to a rustic log cabin in what would later become Wisconsin. With a zeal for self-sufficiency and a thirst for adventure, Kinzie was one of the first New England women to travel through the territorial wilderness in the 1830’s. She chronicled her adventures and experiences, with a special sensitivity to the lives and relationships between the settlers, traders and native peoples. Most importantly, she embodied and wrote about the importance of being a resilient and capable woman on the frontier.
Through engaging narrative and graphics that illustrate Juliette’s life and times, this book in the Badger Biography series inspires young readers and those interested in learning about a young woman's adventurous journey during our country's turbulent past.
