The Climate Science Education Center – created an interactive learning museum featuring world-class exhibits, theaters and hands-on experiences that lead to a better understanding of our world.
Nature Passport – Created the area’s first collaborative program features self-guided educational adventures at over 16 different nature sites throughout the region.
Take a Walk with Aldo Leopold Interactive Trail – Designed and wrote the award-winning interpretive trail guides visitors with thoughtful questions Aldo Leopold would have asked them had he been at their side. In English, Spanish and Audiotape for Visually-Challenged.
Aldo Leopold: Learning from the Land — (broadcast video) Wrote and produced the award-winning documentary that chronicles the family story of renowned ecologist and author of A Sand County Almanac.
Nature Net News – Created an online monthly newsletter with practical tips and helpful information for parents and first-time nature explorers with young children.
The Children’s Shack — Facilitated the creation of an accessible and child-scaled replica of Aldo Leopold’s famous Shack reflects the land ethic and is the center of educational programming.
Nature Net: the environmental learning network – Created and organized Nature Net – the region’s first consortium of independent organizations. Nature Net hosted one of the first online portals for educators, and created innovative initiatives to encourage collaborations between schools, cultural institutions, and families.
Aldo Leopold as a Boy: Discovering the Mysteries of the Land (exhibit)– Wrote and directed the creation of this handcrafted exhibit exploring Leopold’s childhood and teaching visitors the skills he learned for observing clues and solving nature’s mysteries in the outdoors.
Juliette Kinzie: Frontier Storyteller (book) – Authored the children’s biography on 19th century adventurer and author, part of the Badger Biography Series published by the Wisconsin Historical Society Press.
Towards a More Sustainable Future (video) — Organized short video describing a new approach to reaching and connecting with children and families spearheaded at the Aldo Leopold Nature Center.
Dino-Rama! Promoted this blockbuster exhibit — designed promotion and public events for animated dinosaur exhibits and programs at the Chicago Academy of Sciences museum, as well as installations in innovative offsite public spaces and shopping centers.
Teaching Children to Care (video) — Designed an interactive educational family center to honor and share the legacy of Nina Leopold Bradley .
Earth Alive! — Created this interactive education program based on Leopold’s study of phenology (events during the year). This online and in-school citizen science program led participants to a deeper understanding of science and the seasons.
Creating a Community of Learning at LRNG:Badgerland – Led regional efforts to establish an online learning program that offered micro-credentials and recognition for competency-based knowledge, designed to connect learners with local opportunities to meet mentors, further their interests, build skills and competencies, and recognize potential through micro-credentials.
